The Victoria
Falls is one of the Natural wonders of the
world and has fascinated travellers since
it was first discovered by David Livingston
in the 1850's Now Declared a World Heritage
site, so ensuring minimal environmental impact
as the prime consideration.
The Zambian side of the Falls is reached by
daily flights from Johannesburg to Livingston,
or by road transfers from Victoria Falls airport.
For guests arriving from Chobe, a road transfer
is also arranged.
As on the Zimbabwean side, a myriad of activities
are available, action packed, gentle and cultural.
ACTIVITIES
VICTORA FALLS ZAMBIA
WHITE WATER
RAFTING
Full and half day trips are offered on the
Zambezi, Zambian side. Low water is July to
January and High water is January - July -
this is approximate. Depending on the rains
and the river water levels. Rafting trips
are accompanied by professional guides, and
full briefing is given, as well as familiarisation
with your raft prior to commencement of the
trips. The rapids are exciting and strenuous,
and the scenery in the gorge is breathtaking.
Lunch is served in the gorge. A strenuous
climb up the gorge mark the end of a memorable
day. Cold beers are served on your way back
to town.
CANOEING
THE ZAMBEZI ZAMBIA
Upper Zambezi canoeing offers a choice of
full day or half day trips. Breakfast is served
at the start of the day, and on full day trips
, a picnic style lunch is served on an island
in the Zambezi River. Cold beers are served
at the end of your day on the way back to
your hotel.
GUIDED FALLS
TOUR ZAMBIAN SIDE
Tours are offered daily and are accompanied
by knowledgable informative guides.. The Victoria
Falls is one of the most spectacular natural
sights in the world, and the tour takes the
form of a walk in the rain forest.
LIVINGSTON
MUSEUM AND CITY TOUR
The town of Livingston was moved from Old
Drift in 1905 due to health reasons. The town
was carefully planned with wide streets, avenues
of beautiful trees, buildings with high ceilings
and mosquito netted verandas. Guests are taken
to view the famous Maramba market whish is
bustling with produce and local shoppers.
Curios are available from another market situated
in a small park in the centre of town. The
city tour is crowned by a visit to the Livingstone
Museum, which houses the most comprehensive
collection of memorabilia of the explorer
David Livingston.
SUNSET CRUISE
ON "THE AFRICAN QUEEN"
Daily afternoon departures. The African Queen
is a five star, triple decked 70ft catamaran,
furnished in Rhodesian teak, beech wood and
brass. Guests are transferred to the Royal
Landing and board the boat for a sunset cruise,
including a selection of cocktails and iced
drinks as well as freshly prepared snacks.
Return to your hotel after sunset.
MUKUNI VILLAGE
TOUR
Daily departures. Mukuni village was founded
as Gundu in the 13th century and later renamed
after the ruler Mukuni, on his arrival from
the Congo. It is home to they Leya people.
The tour presents an opportunity to see how
the local people live in a real African Village.
It has a population of 7.000, a clinic, basic
school and boreholes for drinking water. Guests
see how huts are built and decorated, meet
residents and see the locals at work - creating
curios.
GAME DRIVE
Daily departures. Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park
is a wildlife sanctuary on the banks of the
Zambezi river and it is the only part among
the nineteen in Zambia which is fenced off.
It is 20km square and gives the opportunity
to view and photograph animals at close range.
It boasts five white rhino, various antelope,
buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck,
warthog and zebra. There is beautiful rivereine
vegetation and gorgeous views across the Zambezi
River. It is also possible to see where the
settlers lived before 1904 in Old Drift.
HELICOPTER
FLIGHTS OVER THE FALLS - ZAMBIA 15 minutes
or 30 minutes
Regular departures throughout the day. You
will be collected form your hotel 30 minutes
prior to departure of the flight. Swoop over
the Zambezi and hover over the Victoria Falls
for a perfect photographic opportunity. On
the thirthy minute flight, continue down the
Zambezi to view game on the river banks.
HALF DAY
ELEPHANT BACK SAFARIS ZAMBIA (mornings
or afternoons)
Transfer to Thorntree lodge where tea, coffee
and cordial is served. Afterward, the guide
gives a short introductory talk including
safety aspects. Guests are taken to meet the
elephants and their handlers and the trail
begins. The Safari winds through riverine
bush and shallow parts of the Zambezi River
onto the islands. Halfway through the ride,
guests dismount and interact with the elephants
whilst the guide gives an informative talk
on the African Elephant and its relationship
with man.
The morning ends with a full English breakfast.
The afternoon safari ends with a choice of
snacks.
ZAMBIAN FALLS
TOUR, MARKET AND MUSEUM
These tours may be combined and duration will
be three hours.
FULL DAY
GAME DRIVE, LIVINGSTON MUSEUM, CITY TOUR,
MARKET AND MUKUNI VILLAGE TOUR
These tours may be combined into a seven hour
tour.
LIVINGSTON
ISLAND LUNCH
Departures are daily. Transfer by boat across
to Livingston Island to be met by sparkling
wine, followed by a three-course lunch served
on the siland with it's unique location close
to the falls. Wines, beers, local spirits
and soft drinks, as well as tea and coffee
is included.
FULL DAY
CHOBE TOUR WITH LUNCH, GAME DRIVE AND CRUISE
Tour departs daily for Hotels in Livingston.
Transfer across the Botswana border via a
short ferry , completing customs and immigration
before continuing to Chobe, cruise on the
Chobe River with a chance of spotting elephant
and other game coming to drink and bathe in
the river. Lunch is served at Chobe Safari
Lodge, located on the banks of the Chobe River
in Kasane. The afternoon continues with a
game drive in open vehiles in the Chobe National
park, with a chance to see lion, buffalo and
numerous species of plains game. Transfer
back to Zamia in the late afternoon.

CLUB VICTORIA FALLS ZAMBIA
The club is located on the banks of the Zambezi
River - Victoria Falls, Zambia.
